DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as the primary administrative and clerical support at the West Parry Sound Campus responding to various needs of the public, students and faculty

- Coordinate facility rentals at the campus by providing quotes, receive rental permits, assist with room and technology set-up and rental invoices
- Submit and track maintenance requests and coordinate maintenance when required
- Provide student and program support for continuing education, contract training, dual credit, pre-apprenticeship and full-time students
- Assist with new employee onboarding and ongoing support including timesheet record keeping, payroll submissions, etc.
- Coordinate Continuing Education offerings by gathering requests from local individuals and groups, prepare basic course costing

Media Technician

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two (2) year Diploma with a focus on Media Technology or equivalent

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Configure and support information technology systems in the School of Art and Design including video, audio servers, network infrastructure, and storage systems in the following areas: G-Wing Theatre, Atmos studio, computer labs, and edit suites
- Provides technical support & implementation, for the School of Art & Design including professional video, audio, and computer hardware; both PC and MAC operating systems; servers and custom TV broadcast computer systems
- Use past knowledge and industry best practices to complete hardware level repairs as well as to custom fabricate and modify equipment used in the School of Art and Design
- Monitor, maintain, and repair various technologies within the School of Art and Design and configure wireless communications system to support effective program delivery

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree or Diploma in Broadcast/IT Engineering Technology specializing in TV Broadcast Technology
- Certificate training and/or workshop certifications in SMSIT including AVID Media Composer, ProTools, Apple and Adobe, Ross Switchers, Newtek, Intercom, Film and Broadcast equipment, Cisco network certification
- Minimum five (5) years of in-depth knowledge of IP based video and audio technology, transmission systems over fiber, LAN and wireless
- Thorough knowledge of Video over IP, mixing consoles, HD broadcast television systems and integrated IP based audio-visual systems, including the design of systems and facilities
- Experience in post-production facilities including knowledge of MAC and PC non-linear video and audio editing

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, modify, customized and fabricate hardware to specification and calibration for use in the School of Art and Design
- Respond to emergency calls, ensure that the post-production facility is maintained operational for in-class productions and external clients
- Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program and maintain adequate parts and hardware inventory to effectuate timely repairs
- Act as technical resources to the School of Art and Design programs by assisting and training faculty, students and staff in the correct operational techniques and set up of equipment and facilities
- Take steps to ensure that faculty, students, and staff understand the limitations of equipment and facilities
- Provide operational/safety parameters for media associated equipment
- Support the technical design and implementation of technology and workflows for the School of Art and Design including professional video and computer hardware both PC and MAC as well as servers and custom broadcast computer systems
- Recommend equipment, systems, and workflow solutions by consulting with industry best practices, peers, program advisory committee members along with input from faculty, staff, management and vendors
- Administer network and monitor faculty, student and staff media network accounts and workspaces
- Install, configure, and support IT systems for media including servers, network infrastructure, storage, security and backup/recovery systems in all programs within the School of Art and Design, classroom labs and edit suites, and occasionally other departments at the College
- Provide dedicated broadcast Audio, Video and Fiber Optic network support
- Provide resolutions and final support for technical or workflow issues escalated from students, faculty and staff
- Recommend work schedules to minimize student impact with changes, additions or modifications to existing systems and processes
- Advise, communicate, and provide a back out plan should a production process fail during a change
- Complete proactive and reactive diagnostic analysis and maintenance activities including applying patches, hot fixes, or modifying systems configurations on servicers, switches, or computer hardware
- Provide statistics and information about current operating environment and make recommendations for upgrades
- Support relationships with vendors for supplies, parts, and servicing of equipment
- Assist with the preparation of capital equipment requests including recommendations for capital budget, program expenditures and operational budget
- Document system settings, services and configurations, technical resource documents, network and infrastructure diagrams, computer location and hardware inventory.
- Maintain specialized technical knowledge of broad-spectrum complex computer and broadcast communication systems hardware and software.
- Provide recommendations on new technology through testing and evaluating emergency technologies and network solutions

- Document, track, and recommend resolutions for student concerns and priority inquiries
- Support the development of deliberate, timely, coordinated responses to emerging issues and facilitate timely resolution while ensuring equitable and balanced action
- Coordinate college resources in response to student concerns and issues. Document steps to resolution, catalogue deployed resources and decisions
- Documents and supports emerging and daily student concerns in support of senior leadership and established committees such as the ACT team and SVTF
- Prepare information packages and recommend resolution options for senior team members relative to escalation concerns
- Support the development of proactive student communications to foster a welcoming learning environment

- Coordinate student placement clearance by establishing and communicating clearance deadlines by program
- Communicate clearance process to new and returning students and deliver presentations on process and requirements
- Consult internal/external partners on clearance requirements and deadlines to ensure optimal process
- Liaise with third-party electronic placement clearance platform personnel to ensure program requirements are up-to-date and system is functioning optimally for students
- Verify clearance statuses for students after deadlines
- Troubleshoot issues raised by students pertaining to third-party electronic placement clearance platform and/or elevate to appropriate partner as required
- Support students through requests for exemption on placement clearance requirements
- Record clearance statuses in database for internal tracking and information
- Maintain database of Agreements with placement agencies

- Facilitate the review and sign-off of Agreements by internal and external partners
